Mothers for Peace and Ecologie

The “Mothers for Peace and Ecologie” project, led by Mother Centers’ International Network for Empowerment (MINE), is dedicated to supporting and empowering refugee women, mothers, and their families from Ukraine, as well as their helpers across the Danube region. The project is structured around three main pillars: exchange and networking, capacity building and empowerment, and the promotion and development of mothers’ center initiatives in Ukraine.

Key objectives

Key objectives include fostering exchange and building networks, developing and tailoring educational programs for women and their supporters, supporting disadvantaged women including Roma women with refugee backgrounds, promoting ecologically oriented mothers’ and family centers, and enhancing awareness of democracy.

Aligned with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) and the regional priorities of Baden-Württemberg, the project aims to strengthen institutional capacity, civic society collaboration, and contributes to social and ecological sustainability.

Through a series of activities like interactive workshops, training sessions on leadership and trauma-sensitive action, and the establishment of mother centers in Ukrainian living rooms, the project will provide a platform for learning, community building, and democratic engagement. Moreover, the integration of ecological principles into these centers will ensure that environmental considerations are central to decision-making processes.

This initiative is set to create lasting impacts beyond its direct timeframe by establishing sustainable structures, partnerships with local and international organizations, and continuous support mechanisms such as the “Wisdom Council” for ongoing guidance and innovation in peace and ecological stewardship.
